Media Release:
It’s pathetic when drivers try to whine their way out of tickets they deserve, but it’s sad when drivers talk officers into writing tickets they initially intended as warnings.
Finally! Steve Pomper, an Active Duty Police Officer and author of, “Is There a Problem, Officer? A Cop’s Inside Scoop on Avoiding Traffic Tickets,” (The Lyons Press, 2007) gives the scoop on how to avoid saying and doing those things virtually guaranteed to irritate an officer right out of a warning mood and into slapping you with a ticket!
Learn:
- When pulled over, it’s not time to debate or argue.
- Don’t mistake officer safety for officer rudeness.
- Don’t take being stopped personally. It’s not about who you are; it’s about what you did.
- The phrases, and actions, that almost guarantee you’ll get a ticket.
- If crying actually works.
- If your good looks will get you a warning.
- How not to be a dork!
Veteran Seattle police officer and author Steve Pomper gives drivers tips on how to behave during a traffic stop that may increase their chances of getting a friendly warning rather than a costly citation.
